De minerale input voor gewassen kan dus worden geoptimaliseerd op basis van de inzichten die de bodemscanners tijdens het bodembehandelingsplan opleveren. Bovendien zorgt de optimalisering van de toevoer van mineralen voor de bescherming van de watervoorraden door de vermindering van de uitspoeling naar het grond- of oppervlaktewater. Scanners worden ook gebruikt om het gewas tijdens het groeiseizoen te volgen. Het project verwacht een vermindering van de broeikasgasemissies als gevolg van deze beste praktijken.
