Es resistente a la sequ\u00eda y tiene un efecto positivo en la estructura del suelo y la fertilidad.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Al iniciar el proyecto, se evalu\u00f3 la zona con el fin de determinar qu\u00e9 variedad de alfalfa se deb\u00eda plantar en las explotaciones piloto. Con esta informaci\u00f3n, dise\u00f1amos y aplicamos los planes de cultivo. Recogimos en diferentes momentos y procesamos la cosecha de manera diferente, optimizando la fermentaci\u00f3n y la conservaci\u00f3n del ensilado.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tras dos a\u00f1os, el proyecto dio como resultado un aumento del 32\u00a0% en la autonom\u00eda proteica y una reducci\u00f3n de las emisiones de GEI del 25\u00a0%. Adem\u00e1s, los productores asumieron el papel de embajadores del proyecto, compartiendo su experiencia con otros.
